Because of Covid-19, I begin to cycle a lot more so I hope to introduce 6 of my favourite and best cycling routes around Singapore which are relatively easy and suitable for families with children. You can even skate or rollerblade there.

These are some of my criteria for choose these family-friendly cycling routes:

  • Relatively flat terrain
  • No and minimal road cycling
  • No pushing of bicycles up and down the overhead bridges without ramps.
  • facilities like toilets along the way
  • beautiful, interesting or educational sights along the way

Difficulty for children: 🚴‍♀️ – Easy, 🚴‍♀️ 🚴‍♀️ – Moderate, 🚴‍♀️ 🚴‍♀️ 🚴‍♀️ – Challenging (By this standard, it is still doable for kids; if not I won’t recommend on this blog. But if this is your first time doing this or if you are with very young kids, please try to easy first.)

Estimated Time to Complete: This is just an estimation without breaks. We know that you may need more time for water and toilet breaks.

Hope these family-friendly cycling routes will be useful for families looking for things to do in Singapore.

1. Along Singapore River.

Highlights of Alexandra Canal Linear Park Route:

  • Admire the view of the city by going up to the roof garden at HDB Skyville@Dawson.
  • Avid skaters can also look forward to challenging themselves at the skate corner, which includes ramps and railings. (Near the Queenstown MRT / Margaret Drive because if you remember, there used to be skating shops at Margaret Drive.)

If you notice, a number of routes do link to each other so if you are game, you can plan and go from 1 route to another easily!

In case there are no bicycle rental shops at the route you want to take, you can try the bike sharing apps to look for a bicycle near by or try a Brompton Bicycle Cycling tour
